The foods were good. The reason I didn't give 4 or 5 stars is because of the service, or the lack of it. We had a large party so we had the big room. We had called the server to come in to put in our orders, when the orders came out, some were delivered to the wrong persons. Throughout the dinner, the servers didn't come in to check or refill water until asked.
I lived in France for 4 years. Definitely miss the food. This was our first time trying this restaurant out. The restaurant is pretty cute and quiet. I love how they place their tables so the guests could have more privacy not super close to the next table. The service was great! The Duck Wellington needed a little more seasoning but the Beef Bourguignon was soooo good! Escargots and crème brûlée were also great! I wish the escargots were bigger. I was so grateful for the private parking on the right side of the restaurant. We were running a little late , they would nice to accommodate that.
Incredibly friendly service in a no frills, boutique location. House bread was fantastic to kick off our meal and things just kept getting better . The shrimp risotto and the raviolis were so tasty (I mean, who can really go wrong with anything smothered in butter and crème). The chocolate cake was a nice way to top off the dinner. Definitely a nice place for a treat meal that feels a little more casual.
"Smart casual" according to their site. Most people were in casual attire. The mashed potatoes...perfection. I could have eaten another bowl of it. Beef Bourguignon was not that tender. It came with a long, long piece of hair. So gross it almost made me gag. The server brought me a new plate at least. Apple tart and chocolate mousse were very well made. I thought I hated mousse until I tried this one.
I don't normally write reviews but I decided this place deserved a higher rating so I wanted to contribute. Overall the experience is very enjoyable. The service is good, nothing too special but definitely polite, and quick. The ambiance is very calming, there is music playing and the inside is decorated very well. And finally the food: The food was delicious, the meals come with french bread that's warm and crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. I had the french onion soup to start, and thought that was incredible, everything french onion soup should be. My main course was the burger with french fries, very enjoyable and affordable. My girlfriend had the new york steak which was cooked perfectly and very tender and flavorful. Finally we shared the apple tart, which was also very good. Will definitely be coming back and I recommend you to try this place especially if you love french onion soup!
